The Wii Keyboard…Wiiboard?

Logitech has annouced their wireless Wii keyboard but will it be all that useful?

Product Overview
Today, people are using the Nintendo Wii to play games as well as communicate using the
Wii™ Internet Channel. The Logitech Cordless Keyboard for Wii – licensed by Nintendo® –
makes communicating, sharing, and exploring the online world from your couch easier than ever
by simplifying text input in the Wii Internet Channel as well as in online, chat-oriented games.
Key Features

  • Officially licensed by Nintendo to ensure you get both design and technical compatibility.
  • Wii system keys make your navigation simple with dedicated buttons for Zoom
    In/Out, Forward/Back, Quit, and OK.
  • 2.4 GHz wireless technology allows you to easily enter text on the Wii Internet Channel and
in chat-oriented games from up to 30 feet away from the console.
  • Compact, slim design blends into your living room and it’s easy to store.
  • Full-size keys ensure you will be typing comfortably.
  • Easy setup lets you plug in the receiver and the keyboard works instantly.
  • I know I don’t speak for everyone but I believe I speak for the majority when I say my Wii is collecting a lot of dust at the moment. I play it occasionally, and when friends are over it’s a great party station but it’s not really the kind of station that I would consider needing a keyboard. Sure it would help with the internet channel, if I ever used it, it might also help if any of the games included a chat feature but I would hope for something like a headset. A keyboard would take away from the game if you had to put down the controller and type something.

Despite the fact that I don’t think it will be very useful it does look nice.
